1. Agreement
By using PDFUtilise (this "site"), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site. The site is operated from India and is intended for use worldwide.
2. What the service is
PDFUtilise provides free, browser-based tools for working with PDF and image files. All processing takes place on your own device. We do not receive, store, view or have any access to your files, and we provide no server-side processing, no API and no storage.
3. Acceptable use
You agree to use the site only for lawful purposes and only with files you have the right to use. In particular you agree not to use it to:
- Remove password protection from a document you do not own or do not have permission to modify;
- Circumvent copyright, licensing or digital rights management protections;
- Forge signatures or create documents intended to deceive or defraud anyone;
- Process material that is unlawful, defamatory, or that infringes anyone’s rights;
- Attempt to disrupt, overload or gain unauthorised access to the site or its infrastructure;
- Present the tools as your own service without permission.
You are solely responsible for the files you process and for the results you produce.
4. Signatures and legal documents
The sign tool creates a visual electronic signature by placing an image on a page. It is suitable for everyday documents where the parties accept an electronic signature, such as agreements, invoices, offer letters and internal approvals. It does not create a cryptographic Digital Signature Certificate, and it is not suitable for filings that legally require one — for example income tax returns, MCA company filings, or submissions that must be signed with a certificate issued by a licensed certifying authority. You are responsible for deciding whether a visual signature is acceptable for your specific purpose.
5. Password protection and unlocking
The protect tool applies real encryption to your PDF. There is no recovery mechanism: if you forget the password, the file cannot be opened by us or by anyone else. Store your passwords safely. The unlock tool removes a password you already know from documents you own; it does not guess, crack or bypass encryption.
6. No warranty
The site and its tools are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or uninterrupted availability. We do not warrant that a tool will work correctly on every file, that the output will be accepted by a third-party portal, or that the site will be free of errors. Please check any converted file before relying on it, and always keep a backup of your original documents.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, PDFUtilise and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, files, profits, business or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the site. Because the service is provided free of charge, our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the site is limited to zero. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
8. Third-party components
The tools rely on open-source libraries including pdf-lib, Mozilla PDF.js, pypdf, Pyodide, JSZip, FileSaver.js and heic2any, each licensed under its own terms. Nothing in these terms grants you rights to those components beyond the rights their own licences provide.
9. Availability and changes
We may add, change, or remove tools at any time, and may suspend or discontinue part of the site without notice. These terms may be updated; the date at the top of the page will change when they are. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
10. Intellectual property
The site’s design, written content, code and branding belong to their respective owners. The files you process through the tools remain entirely yours — we claim no rights over your documents, your output, or anything you create with the tools.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at Bhubaneswar, Odisha shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them or from your use of the site.
12. Contact
